A truly professional, four part driving harmony and instrumental group.

The Rocky Mountain Boys have been around for ten years, in one form or another. The father and son act with Steve and Ben Somers, renowned for it's irresistible, driving style of Bluegrass ands Cowboy swing, coupled with the soaring four part harmonies makes The Rocky Mountain Boys one of the hottest sounding country bands across Europe.

Steve Somers has been playing country music since 1966.

During that time he has performed as a sideman to many of the top Country names from around the world. Appearing on stage, television, radio and records for over three decades with Glen Campbell, Skiffle King Lonnie Donegan, Don Everly (The Everly Brothers), Billy Jo Spears, The Settlers, Diane Solomons and British country great Pete Sayers to name a few. Once the singing voice of TV comedian Tom O'Connor!

It was after a shared concert (Steve as guitarist/vocalist for The Settlers) with Bluegrass legends Bill Keith and Jim Rooney, that Steve turned his attention more and more to Bluegrass, going on to perform on television with Cowboy song specialist Pete Rowan, after becoming permanent sideman to UKs Pete Sayer, who is still ahousehold name in British Country music.

During the 20 years Steve performed with Pete, he could often be seen with his own offshoot band The Rocky Mountain Boys, in Theatres and clubs across Europe.

Now in his 60th year Steve Somers is performing with The Rocky Mountain Boys 2009.

Ben Somers, lives in London UK and runs his own Bluegrass outfit 'The Wagon Tales'. Ben takes his music around the world, himself a well respected name on the London session scene as saxophonist for Dizzee Rascal, Mika, Doctor John and many other pop greats. It is on double Bass and vocals that Ben joins Dad with his love of Bluegrass.

Joe Aukland also a seasoned traveller, provides the comedy character 'Cousin Jocephus' on Banjo and vocals ( Joes' alter ego is as trumpet player for famous group 'Madness') whilst also being well respected on the London studio session circuit

Kate Robinson makes up the fourth member of The Rocky Mountain Boys hot bluegrass fiddler and vocals, giving the group those high lonesome harmonies so important in good bluegrass music. By day Kate is principal violin with London Orchestras, including the London Chamber Orchestra.
